Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American businesswoman for more than twenty years. She is the owner and the president of Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss was born in California and grew up an heir to a prestigious family. Jerry Buss, her father was a businessman in real estate who eventually became the proprietor of Lakers Sports and Entertainment. When her parents broke up in 1972 she felt that they had abandoned her. When she was 19 years old, she took over management of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as General Manager. She founded later in the Los Angeles Blades, a professional, roller-hockey club. In the beginning, she was vice president of Lakers before taking on the position of president of the Great Western Forum. Buss inherited her share of the Lakers through her father's estate in the year 2013. Five siblings of hers took over the franchise through an estate trust. Buss was elected president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss was also a part-owner of Women of Wrestling (a Los Angeles-based pro-wrestling association).
